A former fishing village, Ayia Napa is situated on the South East coast of Cyprus and is known for its golden sandy beaches. Perfect for wedding venues. In the Greek language, the word ‘Ayia’ means holy and ‘Napa’ means wooded valley as in ancient times the town was covered with thick forest. The story goes that a local hunter accidentally found a cave with an icon of the Virgin Mary which was hidden by Christians being persecuted in 900-800BC. The cave stayed as it was until a lady from Venice fled to Ayia Napa after her father disallowed her marriage. She built the mediaeval Monastery, which still stands today, around the cave in honour of the Virgin Mary. The name of the icon, the Virgin Mary of Napa, was eventually shortened and called Ayia Napa.

Ayia Napa Town Hall has both an indoor and outdoor wedding venue and is close to most of the hotels in the area. The indoor wedding room is fully air-conditioned and will hold 40 guests seated. The outdoor venue is in the amphitheatre with unlimited space for guests and has disabled access. There is a small lift to the indoor venue for small to medium size wheelchairs. Please bear in mind the heat at the height of summer if requesting the outdoor venue.
The Adams Beach Hotel is an elegant hotel in a prime location set on the fine white sands of Nissi Bay suitable for both couples and families and a few minutes drive to the centre of Ayia Napa. Venue options include their very own St Andrews Chapel, the garden gazebo, or new for 2011 the gazebo overlooking the sea. The hotel prefers to keep to one wedding per day but will take another wedding which will be well spaced apart from the first and giving privacy to both parties.
Napa Mermaid Hotel & Suites is a contemporary and chic hotel located approximately 100 metres from Grecian Beach and 500 metres from the town centre. The sea view marquee offers magnificent views and venue hire is complimentary for residents organising their reception at the hotel. The Napa Mermaid has a one wedding per day policy.
Napa Plaza Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Ayia Napa and is ideally suited to adults. Venues include: The Deck overlooking the pool, The Rotunda set at the edge of the lagoon pool and The Cloisters Restaurant having taken inspiration from the Mediaeval Monastery next to the hotel. Napa Plaza will only hold one wedding per day in the hotel.
The Garden Venue It is beautifully convenient for holding both your wedding and reception in the same place and can hold large wedding parties of up to 200 people but just as suitable for smaller parties. An enclosed children’s play area will keep the children happy letting everyone enjoy the wedding. A DJ and Traditional Dancers can also be booked. It is around a 5-10 minute drive from the centre of Ayia Napa town. Anglican Church ceremonies and civil ceremonies can be conducted. Weddings take place under the Gazebo with white backed chairs and table decorations according to your colour theme which can be chosen prior to the wedding at the venue itself if you wish. They have a one wedding per day policy, with the only exception being a smaller wedding party of 10 persons who will be allocated a separate and private reception area. Now has a NEW BEACH VENUE!!!
